At Mutambara High School, LIVE-Ex helped bring about a clear improvement in the school environment through tree planting and environmental management. Members of the environmental club planted trees around the school grounds, providing shade, reducing soil erosion, and improving the appearance of the school.
Alongside the planting, the club encouraged students to keep the environment clean by promoting proper waste disposal and reducing littering. Through these activities, learners became more responsible and more aware of the importance of protecting nature. The work also brought students together, uniting them around the shared goal of a healthier, greener school community.
The main lesson from the work at Mutambara High School was that small actions can make a big difference. Many students became noticeably more interested and active in environmental management after taking part in tree planting and clean-up activities.
It was encouraging to see how teamwork and cooperation made the projects both more successful and more enjoyable. Participants gained an understanding of the importance of caring for nature and keeping their surroundings clean, and along the way they developed responsibility, leadership skills, and a stronger sense of community.
