The Earth Artivist Training and Songwriting Workshop was a 10-day activity in Nairobi, Kenya, hosted by KVSO and designed to empower youth with skills in songwriting, climate justice advocacy, and community engagement. Each partner organization sent at least one participant, who later contributed to local actions by sharing the collaboratively created song and implementing practical climate-related activities.
Led by an environmental trainer and two songwriting experts from the International Music Council, the program combined creative practice with critical reflection. Participants engaged in deep listening sessions and discussions on local climate challenges, the impacts of green colonialism, decolonizing ecology and mindsets, and EU policies related to social and climate justice. These insights informed the co-creation and production of a final song intended to support awareness-raising and collective action.
