Ratherford joined Zimbabwe Workcamps Association soon after its inception in 1995 and rose within the ranks. Zimbabwe Workcamps Association is a Youth Volunteer Organisation that use international voluntary services as a double-edged sword namely community development and international understanding. With more than 25 years’ hands on experience employing grassroots Community Driven Systems Change programs at National, Regional, and international level. He serves as a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) at Network of African Voluntary organisations a continental body which aim to achieve prosperous and peaceful Africa through youth empowerment, volunteerism and pan Africa exchange as well as scaling up global, regional and national actions to meet young people’s needs, realize their rights and tap their possibilities as agents of change. He also Co-Chairs International Forum for Volunteering in Development –Research, Practice, Policy and Learning Group. He has frontline experience in developing tailor-made international voluntary services programs & activities to meet the needs of communities.
