🧠 Impact Assessment Staff Training (WP2)
Dates: 15 June 2023 and 22 June 2023 (two-session webinar series)

The Impact Assessment Staff Training equipped partner organisations with practical tools and methodologies to measure and interpret the impact of volunteering activities. Led by CCIVS and supported by external expertise, the training focused on building shared indicators, designing effective questionnaires, and embedding impact measurement into organisational strategies.
Participants explored how to combine quantitative and qualitative data, motivate volunteers to respond to surveys, and translate findings into advocacy, fundraising, and communication strategies. The training also addressed how impact assessment can move beyond reporting obligations and become a learning process that strengthens programme quality.
This activity laid the foundation for pilot testing a shared impact measurement system across partner organisations, contributing to more consistent and comparable impact practices within the IVS sector.
📣 External Communication Staff Training (WP3)
Dates: 8 October 2024
The External Communication Training focused on strengthening partners’ capacities to communicate impact more strategically and effectively. Building on research into youth target groups, the training explored storytelling, visual identity, digital engagement, social media strategies, and impact-oriented campaigns.
Participants reflected on how to move from simply promoting activities to communicating meaningful change. Special emphasis was placed on understanding youth audiences (18–25), improving visual content, using paid ads strategically, and creating personas to guide communication approaches.
The training supported partners in developing or updating their communication strategies, ensuring that impact data generated through WP2 could be translated into compelling narratives that attract volunteers, supporters, and stakeholders.
🌐 Community Building Staff Training (WP4)
Dates: 25 April 2023, 13 May 2024
The Community Building Training focused on how organisations can build stronger, more sustainable relationships with volunteers, members, and supporters. Facilitated online, the training explored stakeholder mapping, mailing strategies, community engagement methods, and systems of care beyond individual activities.
Partners shared practices such as open days, volunteer alumni engagement, youth committees, community events, and structured mailing strategies. The training highlighted the importance of maintaining long-term connections and transforming passive supporters into active contributors.
This activity supported the development of pilot community-building strategies in each partner country and contributed to the creation of the Community Building Manual for IVS organisations.
